FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Old church added to Sheyenne Riverbend FarmExplore the Sheyenne, 2006Anyone looking for a rural church to have that special wedding, need not look any further. The old Elim Evangelical Free Church of SVEA Township near Litchville was moved to the Sheyenne Riverbend Farm on Sept. 1, 2005, with just this in mind. Owners, Bob and Marion Rieth, formerly of North Dakota now live in the state of Washington, but they make many trips back during the year to their farm, located three miles south of Valley City on the Kathryn Road. Bob Rieth was raised in Green Township. The Rieths said the church will be called a chapel rather than a church, as regular church sevices will not be held there. People may rent the church for weddings, special services, baptisms, anniversaries or other events. The target date for the completion of the church is May of 2006. An addition has been attached to the church with a vestibule, rooms for the bride and her party to dress, two restrooms and a rom for the furnace. The church will be able to accommodate about 125 people comfortably. For those planning a wedding in the church, there are three other buildings on the premises where guests may stay. The old school house, which also moved in, has been converted into a guest
cottage, complete with kitchen and bath.
