Like so many country churches that were once the center of
the pioneer communities, Elim Church stood empty and in danger of decay
since the congregation started attending church in the nearby Valley City
in the late 70's.
What could be done to preserve this historic church
building?
Meanwhile Sheyenne Riverbend Farm was looking for a country
church to make the heritage center complete and in 2005 the move to
Riverbend Farm was accomplished.
Then began the restoration.
After sitting unused for so many years much work had to be done but the church has been repaired
and a new entry constructed, complete with a steeple.
We pray that
it may see many more years of service in its new home at
Sheyenne Riverbend Farm
