What our VISITORS are saying - - To Whom it May Concern, In June of 2006 we had a family reunion at the Riverbend Farm. We hadn't had one prior to that since 1990. I had contemplated, since I have a family of five and live in Alabama, not attending since I knew the cost would be exorbitant but later decided to go anyway. I know that it really isn't about the place you have the reunion it's the reconnecting with family and relatives you haven't seen in years that makes the reunion so very special. That's true, for the most part, but I can tell you that I had the most wonderful and meaningful time and your location was nothing short of spectacular. I knew this reunion meant the world to me but really didn't know just how much until now. You see I am in the Army and deploying to Afghanistan shortly. I don't know what my future holds but do know that God is in control and pray daily that His will be done and that I submit and totally trust Him with all my being. I, as is every service member, am apprehensive and certainly have my fears about deploying once again into a combat zone. It is because of this that I truly treasure the very special time I had with my family at your farm. The memories I have are so dear to me and I truly treasure them. I hope it's not the last but, if it is God's will that I die serving my country then so be it. I, if all goes well, will be back in the states in early 2009 and have asked family if it might be possible to have another reunion up there in the summer of 2009. I believe they are in the preliminary planning stages right now and am not sure where they hope to have it but I hope it is your location again. Again, thank you so much for adding to the wonderful memories. Proudly serving, MAJ R. B. |
